I have many tales about this fraudster to turn your ears crimson. Can we email or something? I work for the Association of Science and Society, which is a sister concern of the HCS, and this odious person routinely exploits all his employees here in various ways - he is routinely a month or two months late in paying salaries; if someone complains about things, he often peremptorily sacks them; he devises ridiculous deadlines, makes people work on Sundays and holidays to meet these deadlines, and then on a whim extends said deadline; he encourages an atmosphere of backbiting and petty politicking, and has expressed dissatisfaction with many members of the staff who refuse to rat on others and refuse to pass on gossipy information to him; the list goes on and on.
In my opinion, Dr. Sat is a caring mentor. He is hard working, highly intelligent and extremely creative. He is deeply concerned with STEM education and the future.
It is indeed appalling to see how a Nanny and who worked at HCS for less than three months, writing under the guise of someone else, who was never associated with the Harlem Children’s society, is misleading everyone - has a whole lot of things to say! – Claiming to know about education! And trash everything and write about dr sat, who has developed a worthy institution over 15 years – changing lives of students and families.
The person writing the above content cannot be anyone worse than the discrimination and abuse that black and coloured people have to bear. If it were not like programs as these – we would have the same fate as Eric Garner, Sean Bell and get choked, shot or killed on the streets like Michael Brown in Fergusson. I have known Dr Sat – and the wonderful organization that he has created and influencing and changing not only thousands of students but also as many families for more than a decade and a half. My daughter has gone through his program since she joined 8 years ago when she was just 14 in high school, and continued her experiences through college – from Carnegie Melon and Cornell Universities. Now she is a successful engineer and has made me proud. I have known hundreds of students who have gone through this program and continuously are doing so, who are doctors, and engineers and graduate students, and even successful professionals. Over these years, including this year I have been following HCS and have recommended many students and parents myself. They all have had a wonderful learning and life changing experience. Even I was recommended by another parent, and even though my daughter has grown out of the program, I continuously recommended parents and students to his program all these years, including this year, have come to some of the wonderful lectures and seminars he organizes for the students. HCS has sort of become a family for so many students even before they have reached university. Importantly so many students have come from very challenging circumstances – extreme poverty, drugs and circumstances at the home front – they find a home – and have continued that through adulthood.
It is amazing, that despite these tough times, Dr. Sat has continued to keep his organization afloat – through his own money, in between the lean periods – as a caring parent (not just for one, but for hundreds of students and their families. I have known students and staff and speak very highly of this wonderful program.
Dr Sat is a combination of King, Gandhi, and Mother Teresa of the great city Calcutta in India that even he comes from. Like them all, Dr. Sat has to endure this racism, mudslinging and mistreatment against the values that they have all stood for. It is time for him to talk about his sacrifices! What would this woman know, to keep something live – through tough times? I have known staffers at HCS for many years. And many have worked for several years with him. Some as many as 3-6 years. This woman who has written the above content rubbishes about all the lectures and videos on line. Quite Obviously she has to be naïve, blind or plain stupid! As many are from Nobel Laureates, and esteemed Doctors and scientists and public Officials. I think, this woman is mal-intent and maligning – a program that has helped a generation of students, and continuingly doing so. As a racist white woman, she might not want this to succeed! She complains about work situations – however, she was working from home! Anyone should know that in an organization like HCS, that sometimes it requites calling students and parents in the evenings- and that is nothing unusual – as in any non-profit. It’s worse in others. Moreover, she was working from home! I believe, in between when he was arranging for funds to pay her, she dropped the program at the last moment before a major event of HCS. dr. sat urged and request her to continue, but she didn’t bulge and abandoning it in the midst of a major event – almost destroying the program for this year! She obviously wanted to use dr. sat and the organization, to move to another step – while destroying a 15 year old organization! This woman is a plain racist bigot!
This woman’s name is Elise Mauren is currently working at NYU. How can an Institution like NYU hire such a person? – who is a racist to the core, and is misrepresenting herself – writing under a guise, misrepresenting herself, and violating the law. This woman came to NYC with her boyfriend, who is a beer salesman, from the south. NYU should have done a background search on her. They should have asked for reference from HCS; or maybe she is a abusive Baby-sitter Nanny from hell! She certainly it seems is not good for any organization or individual who wants to safe guard their image. So I joined this so called harlem children society program this summer and it seems like I wasted an entire summer when I could have being working, but instead I wasted money on metro card, which my mom had to cough out. She already has enough on her head. I just google Dr. Sat name and I saw the blog. I don't know the guy very well, but I think this organization is a scam. This Dr. Sat only showed up on the orientation and cancelled a bunch of other lectures. This is very un-organized, the staff had to quit mid summer because they themselves were not being paid. I feel like, I could've google these mentors and ask them directly if I can intern with them, than going through this bogus program. I will make sure to let all my classmates, friends, guardian counselor know about this and I'll let them know never to join. Another point I wanted to make was that, when I called memorial Sloan cancer Kettering center to inquire about interning there using Dr. Sat's name. I was told there was no name on the directory, I even gave them Bhattacharya for them to search but nothing. So I am curious, wouldn't they have your name on the directories. Someone should defiantly look into this. I told my dad and he is going to call people he know to properly look into this because this summer has being the most frustrating summer I had. All my friends from HCS are at leading schools all over the country. Not only that, but thanks to this program. HCS like all big organizations have gone through tough times – that to Dr. sat that he has kept it alive – it will spring up again to its glorious past. If you think you call a few people to get anywhere in for research – tough luck! Do not get misled by this person and run around disgracing other people – before you get into serious trouble – Mickey Mouse.

Last year we had a similar racist person, mentioned in this trail, who briefly was helping drsat and held him hanging at the last moment. Fortunately we could rescue the program. Someone who uses such awful language definitely is not a professional and seems to be a nutcase and seems to have a mental condition. This is harassment and abuse. I am sure if this is what she does online defaming someone she must be doing worse. Infact my parents think that she has the attitude of a spoiled teenager who needs to be punished and that this person definitely needs to be evaluated psychologically. Drsat cannot hire such a bozo, or would have fired them in no time. Follow my advice and do not follow these losers. They seem as white trash. I can speak for certain that Elise Mauren has nothing to do with this blog and in fact, she will be notified shortly that Princess's mother has slandered her here with no evidence at all. He mistreats his "volunteer" interns (who constitute 99% of his programming staff) with his shady payment arrangements (consisting of bouncing checks) and by dumping an unreasonable majority of his organization's operations onto them. It's only a matter of time that he gets investigated in the way he employs people laboring beyond 9-5 and Monday-Sunday for him and the general way this man manages this organization. I worked for him a few years ago and I was always curious to know how he manages his (non-existent?) position at Memorial Kettering while running Harlem Children's Society. They don't seem to list him on their staff directory on their website.
Also, Nobel laureate nominees should demonstrate a basic level integrity for the Nobel organization's current standards and Sat Bhattacharya tremendously falls short of that. This is the publicity that Bhattacharya and any nonprofit he spews deserve. How much uglier can it get than calling out all former employees and affiliates as "southern racists" and mentally ill persons?
Kudos to the posts that just exactly reinforce what was stated in March 2013 on this man's lack of integrity and general bad behavior. Some official needs to strip this sham organization from its status as a nonprofit with tax benefits.

I back the statement that Dr. Sat is a fraud and an abusive employer who doesn't comply with labor laws. Anyone who disagrees with that is grossly naive or delusional like Princess's mother, i.e. drawing comparisons to MLK, Gandhi, and Mother Teresa. So disrespectful to the aforementioned and delusional in general.
Either you run a non-profit organization in compliance with NYS labor law and retain dignity, or you just stick with your day job, or seemingly there lack of at Memorial Sloan Kettering. You shouldn't abuse your power over former student participants from the highly disorganized research program to help you run the administration side of the program without fair compensation for their time, and even further demand overtime.
I'm not sure if this program is still running, but one thing is for sure, is that Dr. Sat's despicable practices must be made known and someone needs to pull the plug on him, in addition to taking those accolades he's been unjustly bestowed by elite institutions (if not fabricated) and shove them up his ass, where his reputation currently resides.
Dr. Sat is not being truthful with his connections to Memorial Sloan Kettering. He was fired from Memorial Sloan Kettering due to research ethical issues. He was also banned from German bar on the Upper East Side. He put holds on checks. He was verbally abusive. He was always late with paying people and showing up for meetings.

I have received an angry email from him written in all caps just because I handed in a mandatory assignment negatively reviewing my summer internship in addition to an event he hosted for everyone. My mentor didn't show up and he had actually revealed that he didn't know what HCS was after three in-person meetings of my entire internship. My mentor dumped a few Excel spreadsheets for me to clean-up after getting me access to the university library and didn't give me much guidance, and I had not taken a relevant high school course in the subject field so I was really lost and didn't make much progress beyond surfing the internet on high speed university wifi.
It was a bad arrangement on the part of his program associate Sheveen Green or whatever his first success HCS story is named, and you can tell she really could not care or was beyond burnt out to fix the situation. I was in high school, held down a part-time job at Ben& Jerry's, showed up at the university library every Tuesday and Thursday to make progress on Excel, attended the mandatory HCS lectures held at Weill-Cornell auditorium every Wednesday, and in every way proved myself of having more professionalism than Green. Her way of dealing with my concerns on the lack of compatibility and a general waste of my time in the university library were ignored by her via phone and email.
Even when I caught the opportunity to speak to her in person, she made a false promise to follow-up with other arrangements and even said that the responsibility was on me that I should start cold-calling labs and professors throughout the city... Doesn't that defeat the purpose and clout of HCS? I thought Bhattacharya had connections and already primed professionals in the STEM community to willingly participate in his program. Anyway that was a bust, but I suppose we can cut Green some slack since she was probably overworked and DGAF since Bhattacharya is a bad boss and he sends nasty all caps emails coercing interns to write nice reviews about his nonprofit when reality cannot be further from the truth.
His website and the Nobel laureate affiliations and whatever accolades he gives himself on the internet are all trash. And what is going on with his director of hard tumors post at MSK???

ReplyDeleteIt is indeed appalling to see how a Nanny and who worked at HCS for less than three months, writing under the guise of someone else, who was never associated with the Harlem Children’s society, is misleading everyone - has a whole lot of things to say! – Claiming to know about education! And trash everything and write about dr sat, who has developed a worthy institution over 15 years – changing lives of students and families.

If it were not like programs as these – we would have the same fate as Eric Garner, Sean Bell and get choked, shot or killed on the streets like Michael Brown in Fergusson. In fact, I think she perhaps wants this!
I have known Dr Sat – and the wonderful organization that he has created and influencing and changing not only thousands of students but also as many families for more than a decade and a half. My daughter has gone through his program since she joined 8 years ago when she was just 14 in high school, and continued her experiences through college – from Carnegie Melon and Cornell Universities. Now she is a successful engineer and has made me proud. I have known hundreds of students who have gone through this program and continuously are doing so, who are doctors, and engineers and graduate students, and even successful professionals. Over these years, including this year I have been following HCS and have recommended many students and parents myself. They all have had a wonderful learning and life changing experience. Even I was recommended by another parent, and even though my daughter has grown out of the program, I continuously recommended parents and students to his program all these years, including this year, have come to some of the wonderful lectures and seminars he organizes for the students. HCS has sort of become a family for so many students even before they have reached university. Importantly so many students have come from very challenging circumstances – extreme poverty, drugs and circumstances at the home front – they find a home – and have continued that through adulthood.

I have known students and staff and speak very highly of this wonderful program.
Dr Sat is a combination of King, Gandhi, and Mother Teresa of the great city Calcutta in India that even he comes from. Like them all, Dr. Sat has to endure this racism, mudslinging and mistreatment against the values that they have all stood for. It is time for him to talk about his sacrifices! I am sure that he is helping hundreds of poor people in India as well (like a few years ago in Africa – till the recession).
What would this woman know, to keep something live – through tough times? I have known staffers at HCS for many years. And many have worked for several years with him. Some as many as 3-6 years. And all have wonderful experiences with him as their caring boss. Last year and early this year, there was this wonderful lady who was his assistant, was also a wonderful person.

This woman who has written the above content rubbishes about all the lectures and videos on line. Quite Obviously she has to be naïve, blind or plain stupid! As many are from Nobel Laureates, and esteemed Doctors and scientists and public Officials. I think, this woman is mal-intent and maligning – a program that has helped a generation of students, and continuingly doing so. As a racist white woman, she might not want this to succeed! She complains about work situations – however, she was working from home! She is the same as the other woman – who also happened to be white, two years ago – who too like her, posted ill content about dr. sat, but it seems that it has removed now! – however, dr. sat had to fire her, when he learnt of several issues with her and when she started staying in the HCS office with her pet cat!

Anyone should know that in an organization like HCS, that sometimes it requites calling students and parents in the evenings- and that is nothing unusual – as in any non-profit. It’s worse in others. Moreover, she was working from home! I believe, in between when he was arranging for funds to pay her, she dropped the program at the last moment before a major event of HCS. dr. sat urged and request her to continue, but she didn’t bulge and abandoning it in the midst of a major event – almost destroying the program for this year! She obviously wanted to use dr. sat and the organization, to move to another step – while destroying a 15 year old organization! This woman is a plain racist bigot!
This woman’s name is Elise Mauren is currently working at NYU. How can an Institution like NYU hire such a person? – who is a racist to the core, and is misrepresenting herself – writing under a guise, misrepresenting herself, and violating the law. This woman came to NYC with her boyfriend, who is a beer salesman, from the south. NYU should have done a background search on her. They should have asked for reference from HCS; or maybe she is a abusive Baby-sitter Nanny from hell! She certainly it seems is not good for any organization or individual who wants to safe guard their image. This imposter, (though it is her) claims that he has know the organization and Dr. Sat the past 8 years. Both, she and her beer salesman friend lived in the south until they finally have come to destroy programs here in New York.

The other person in India – it seems, he is a little crazy himself. Dr. sat we can find out who this person is. From his writing, it is just apparent that he needs a Psychiatric evaluation and help. Or simply he might be on drugs or something. This person seems disgruntled and wanting to cause harm. In any case, seems as a threat to any society. DeleteSo I joined this so called harlem children society program this summer and it seems like I wasted an entire summer when I could have being working, but instead I wasted money on metro card, which my mom had to cough out. She already has enough on her head. I just google Dr. Sat name and I saw the blog. I don't know the guy very well, but I think this organization is a scam. This Dr. Sat only showed up on the orientation and cancelled a bunch of other lectures. This is very un-organized, the staff had to quit mid summer because they themselves were not being paid. I feel like, I could've google these mentors and ask them directly if I can intern with them, than going through this bogus program. I will make sure to let all my classmates, friends, guardian counselor know about this and I'll let them know never to join.
ReplyDeleteAnother point I wanted to make was that, when I called memorial Sloan cancer Kettering center to inquire about interning there using Dr. Sat's name. I was told there was no name on the directory, I even gave them Bhattacharya for them to search but nothing. So I am curious, wouldn't they have your name on the directories.
Someone should defiantly look into this. I told my dad and he is going to call people he know to properly look into this because this summer has being the most frustrating summer I had. All my high school friends enjoyed their summer, except me and the other students in this program. I wish they can have a better leader

Do you understand what that is – It is “Massachusetts Institute of Technology – one of the top engineering universities anywhere. Not only I had a life changing experience in dr.sat’s program – but also it helped me get into MIT. In fact they already had known about HCS, as many of HCS students have been in MIT. I was so proud. Several of my friends from the past 7 years have gone through this marvelous program. It indeed is a life changing experience for others and myself. All my friends from HCS are at leading schools all over the country. Not only that, but thanks to this program. HCS like all big organizations have gone through tough times – that to Dr. sat that he has kept it alive – it will spring up again to its glorious past. If you think you call a few people to get anywhere in for research – tough luck! Do not get misled by this person and run around disgracing other people – before you get into serious trouble – Mickey Mouse.
You should understand that not everyone is listed in any institution. Dr. sat has a legacy – not only in his research and has developed technologies to detect and cure cancer and published many research papers, and also for 15 years training students – what have you done? So many of his students are doctors and scientists and engineers. And many like me – are the first ones in our families to go to college.
The guys who have started this blog are also obviously are on drugs or are plain racists, and have nothing else to do with their time. They seem evil. They do not have guts to say who they are – They may be social delinquents and delusional. They seem as white trash. No person in their like mind would try to destroy the organizations that dr sat has founded helping thousands of students.
Especially this person called Hector Ramirez-Jones, who claims that they worked for HCS, is an imposter. Anyone who has been in the organization 8 years ago – should have known that we had many students in Africa as well – obviously by making fun of drsat this person has exposed themselves. Even though I am relatively new, I have friends who go back 10 years. Even in India, as this person describes, I am very sure he must be helping thousands of students and families – like here as well. People who have time sitting on their backs and lazy – will not understand what hard work and helping others is! I have on occasion even helped making phone calls and other small tasks that need to be done only during evening hours and on weekends, because that is only then children and their parents are at home. That is not overtime. It is community work and an intern that is excellent training. Even President Obama did it for meager money. Drsat is strict but yet caring. Last year we had a similar racist person, mentioned in this trail, who briefly was helping drsat and held him hanging at the last moment. Fortunately we could rescue the program. Someone who uses such awful language definitely is not a professional and seems to be a nutcase and seems to have a mental condition. This is harassment and abuse. I am sure if this is what she does online defaming someone she must be doing worse. Infact my parents think that she has the attitude of a spoiled teenager who needs to be punished and that this person definitely needs to be evaluated psychologically. Drsat cannot hire such a bozo, or would have fired them in no time. Follow my advice and do not follow these losers. They seem as white trash. The person look like that they are racist, psycho and really are a bully. They are misleading people and looks like very dangerous people.

Anyway, Dr. Sat has a has a god complex and is running his own organization to the ground. He mistreats his "volunteer" interns (who constitute 99% of his programming staff) with his shady payment arrangements (consisting of bouncing checks) and by dumping an unreasonable majority of his organization's operations onto them. It's only a matter of time that he gets investigated in the way he employs people laboring beyond 9-5 and Monday-Sunday for him and the general way this man manages this organization. I worked for him a few years ago and I was always curious to know how he manages his (non-existent?) position at Memorial Kettering while running Harlem Children's Society. They don't seem to list him on their staff directory on their website.
Also, Nobel laureate nominees should demonstrate a basic level integrity for the Nobel organization's current standards and Sat Bhattacharya tremendously falls short of that. Prospective students, parents and lab administrators all need to read this before they make the decision to commit their time to him.

Anyone who disagrees with that is grossly naive or delusional like Princess's mother, i.e. drawing comparisons to MLK, Gandhi, and Mother Teresa. So disrespectful to the aforementioned and delusional in general.
ReplyDeleteEither you run a non-profit organization in compliance with NYS labor law and retain dignity, or you just stick with your day job, or seemingly there lack of at Memorial Sloan Kettering. You shouldn't abuse your power over former student participants from the highly disorganized research program to help you run the administration side of the program without fair compensation for their time, and even further demand overtime.
I'm not sure if this program is still running, but one thing is for sure, is that Dr. Sat's despicable practices must be made known and someone needs to pull the plug on him, in addition to taking those accolades he's been unjustly bestowed by elite institutions (if not fabricated) and shove them up his ass, where his reputation currently resides.
Dr. Sat is not being truthful with his connections to Memorial Sloan Kettering. He was fired from Memorial Sloan Kettering due to research ethical issues. He was also banned from German bar on the Upper East Side. He put holds on checks. He was verbally abusive. He was always late with paying people and showing up for meetings.

ReplyDeleteI have received an angry email from him written in all caps just because I handed in a mandatory assignment negatively reviewing my summer internship in addition to an event he hosted for everyone. My mentor didn't show up and he had actually revealed that he didn't know what HCS was after three in-person meetings of my entire internship. My mentor dumped a few Excel spreadsheets for me to clean-up after getting me access to the university library and didn't give me much guidance, and I had not taken a relevant high school course in the subject field so I was really lost and didn't make much progress beyond surfing the internet on high speed university wifi.
It was a bad arrangement on the part of his program associate Sheveen Green or whatever his first success HCS story is named, and you can tell she really could not care or was beyond burnt out to fix the situation. I was in high school, held down a part-time job at Ben& Jerry's, showed up at the university library every Tuesday and Thursday to make progress on Excel, attended the mandatory HCS lectures held at Weill-Cornell auditorium every Wednesday, and in every way proved myself of having more professionalism than Green. Her way of dealing with my concerns on the lack of compatibility and a general waste of my time in the university library were ignored by her via phone and email.
Even when I caught the opportunity to speak to her in person, she made a false promise to follow-up with other arrangements and even said that the responsibility was on me that I should start cold-calling labs and professors throughout the city... Doesn't that defeat the purpose and clout of HCS? I thought Bhattacharya had connections and already primed professionals in the STEM community to willingly participate in his program. Anyway that was a bust, but I suppose we can cut Green some slack since she was probably overworked and DGAF since Bhattacharya is a bad boss and he sends nasty all caps emails coercing interns to write nice reviews about his nonprofit when reality cannot be further from the truth.
His website and the Nobel laureate affiliations and whatever accolades he gives himself on the internet are all trash. And what is going on with his director of hard tumors post at MSK???
